Typical switch job that breaks (switches) trains, and makes up trains, as necessary or as directed by yardmaster in the tower.  Sometimes you spot up Colorado Petroleum (industry off track 46), and also occasionally pull and interchange DRIR railroad. This is usually an 8 hr. job 

Assist yard jobs 112,(BN 0630) and 116,(C&S 0758) switch engs. The "u-man" is also needed to attach to outbound trains to arm Freds, attach to the other end to watch them shove tracks, make air as needed, Help double over inbound trains, and line off tracks and tag them out for coupling by the other end. Also if someone is not available because of late call, a no show, or, goes home sick you will be asked to fill in. Please see utility man agreement. This is usually an 8 hr. job. 

This job works with the herder pilot and moves engines to the roundhouse for servicing and fueling,  as well as taking engs. from the roundhouse to other points as directed by the yardmasters at 31st and 38th. 

This job works  with the outside hostler moving engs. to the roundhouse for servicing and fueling. It also takes engines to other points in the yard as instructed by the yardmasters @31st and 38th. You may also have to get engs. at UP North Yard, Lodo, or Hogans alley and handle them to the roundhouse, as well as from 31st or 38th. Occasionally you may get overtime.

As utility man you will be assisting the  0700 Salt mine crew, and 0759 South Side crew switching out trains, making up trains, doubling trains, arming freds, setting out bad orders, making air, and just about everything else they can think of to do. This is usually an 8 hr. job

This job tends to make up and switch trains, but also transfers cuts and occasionally dogcatches dead trains outside of the yard.  This job sometimes gets overtime, one never knows when.

This job goes to work at 31st. and most days is transported to their inbound cut on the market St. line to bring in their and the 1500 Market St. transfer. Once they have brought in that, then they have to take out their cut and spot any cars as needed on the Market St. line. Also delivering the cars for the 1500 Market St. "up to the circle". Usually a full 12 Hrs on this job.

This job is a typical switch engine that switches out trains and makes up trains as instructed by yardmaster 38th St. Also coupling up trains and making air as necessary.

As utility man you will be assisting to jobs 1430 38th 206 and the 1558 C&S 213 job. Your other tasks may include attaching to inbound trains, outbound trains, arming freds, lining in trains, making air, doubling over, lining away tracks for coupling and tagging out, among other duties.

This job works with the herder pilot moving engines to and from the roundhouse for servicing and fueling. You must be hostler qualified to work this job.

You can get engs. from off parked trains or from other yards as well as getting them from 31st st yard. Also you could even take them to Lodo siding or Hogans alley siding, as well as tracks in 31st or 38th st. yard. 

This job generally is transported to the train out by the Dahlia circle where it pulls cars from industries, and switches up its train for spotting up cars to the industries in the area as needed. Most nights you will want to bring a lunch to eat.  Plan on overtime as most nights this job doesn't get done in time to make it back into the yard with it's train. 

This job is typical in that it switches  and makes up trains but it also transfers cuts to the Union Pacific North Yard. Most days you can plan on this being a 12 hr. job. It is not uncommon for this job to go get a train after it died on the hours and bring it in.

This is a typical switch engine that switches out inbound trains and makes up trains as instructed by yardmaster 38th. Generally it does not get overtime but, never say never, as it's happened before. 

This is a typical switch engine in that it switches inbound trains and makes up outbound trains as instructed by yardmaster 31st. Coupling tracks is common on this job.

This utility man assist the 2300 Salt mine in switching as well as lining in trains, doubling up trains, making air, lining away tracks and tagging them out for the other end, setting out bad orders, and the list goes on. It usually does not get overtime.
